It is Sunday March 1st and it is the perfect day for much needed spring time beekeeping. Some repairs of old boxes and frames and expanding all single hives with a second deep box.
Just a few of the tools a beekeeper uses. This time I took them outside as it is so nice today.
The pull cart is full with 5 deep boxes each with 10 frames. Some of the frames are brand new and have no comb yet, others have wax comb from previous years.
All the hives with the upright bricks got a second deep today. The others wintered with two deeps and will need to have those deeps reversed and a super added, probably this week. Hives 1, 4, 5, 7 and 9.
